Mother’s Day is around the corner and with a little bit of preparation you can still plan a great day for the whole family.
Looking for the perfect gift? Swap chocolates for a big bunch of flowers or a bright plant in a pot for long term memories.
Breakfast in bed? Swap fried eggs for boiled or poached; swap white bread for whole grain toast; swap fatty bacon for a slice or two of 98% fat free ham sliced directly from the leg and don’t forget the grilled tomatoes and mushrooms.
Planning lunch out to mark the occasion? Swap battered and fried foods for grilled meats, fish or chicken with no skin; swap chips for boiled or baked potatoes; swap creamy pastas for pasta with a tomato based sauce; swap a large latte for a reduced fat cappuccino. And, when it comes to dessert, order one and share between two.
